Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer will work in partnership with the President and CEO to ensure the successful implementation of the Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. five year strategic work plan. In concert with the CEO, the COO will oversee ABI’s senior leadership responsible for Real Estate, Design, Construction, and project tracking. This will enable the President/CEO to focus externally on alliance partnerships, strategic opportunities, resource development, and relationships with board members, trustees, and prospective donors and investors. Under the President/CEO’s direction, the COO will be responsible for keeping the ABI Board of Directors and the Mayor and City Council of the City of Atlanta well informed of the status of implementation of the BeltLine project. The Chief Operating Officer will manage and well-execute complex financial and operating plans, spearhead development of policies and guiding principles, anticipate and/or resolve challenges and issues, respond to community and stakeholder feedback and considerations, and work closely with counterparts within the City of Atlanta and other partners to coordinate and advance all BeltLine activities. The position reports directly to the President and CEO.
The Director of Community Engagement will be responsible for building awareness and engagement among Atlanta residents, communicating with the community about current BeltLine issues, ensuring the active and meaningful participation of the community on matters related to the BeltLine, and providing substantive information and responses to community concerns, issues, and inquiries to Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and related partners and organizations. The Director serves as the primary director of community-related activities, including the implementation of the citizen engagement framework for the BeltLine. In that role, the Director of Community Engagement will act as advisor and as a resource both to the organization and to community members in guaranteeing robust citizen engagement in BeltLine implementation. The position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
The Senior Architect will be reporting to the Director of Design and will help coordinate all design work for buildings and structures in parks, trails, streetscape, and other public spaces. The candidate will work with the contracted design teams, the BeltLine urban planners and Project Management staff, the City of Atlanta Parks Department staff, and numerous stakeholder and citizen groups to help insure good design and construction in all aspects of the project, including the interface between development structures and the public realm created by the project. The Senior Architect will also be assigned Project Management responsibilities as part of ABI’s Master Plan process.
Senior Landscape Architect
The Senior Landscape Architect will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring implementation of specific BeltLine projects, which may include development of procedures for project design and implementation. The SLA coordinates City user departments, ABI staffing, and participation of external stakeholders, including community engagement directly related to the specific project. The SLA ensures that project timelines and budgets are met and that all necessary legislative or regulatory items are executed. The position reports directly to the Director of Design. The SLA coordinates community engagement with the Community Engagement department, and may serve as the principal spokesperson for the assigned project.
The Senior Urban Planner plays a critical planning and coordination role within both the City of Atlanta’s Bureau of Planning and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., and will operate within a dual reporting structure. The incumbent will serve as a task leader, planner, and project manager in the BeltLine Planning Division of the Bureau of Planning; assists the Director in implementing City of Atlanta rules and regulations to accomplish the BeltLine Planning goals of the Bureau while also assuring full alignment and coordination with the overall execution of BeltLine implementation carried out through Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. Work is performed under the supervision of the BeltLine Planning Division Senior Project Manager. Specific duties include serving as a lead planner for BeltLine planning studies and project manager for BeltLine projects; conducting research and analysis, evaluating findings and developing draft and final reports and presentations; managing, identifying issues and developing recommendations and solutions for complex projects; providing technical assistance and guidance to developers to ensure conformance with BeltLine design guidelines and the BeltLine Overlay District; and overseeing work activities of consultants.
